Hi there, William.  You're absolutely right.  We've got this behavior documented for Storyline 3 and 360.  The timer stays on the player specifically in HTML5 output, which means you'll also see it in the Preview of your course.

Besides viewing the Flash output, we don't have a solid workaround yet.  I'll keep this discussion updated, though, if I get any new information.

I have a similar question. There are several quizzes go one by one in a course. Each quiz has a start page, a timer and its own result page. The timers work correctly on each quiz, however the first timer still shows on the second quiz's start page, the second timer still shows on the third quiz's start page, etc..

For example, the timer for the first quiz is 60min and for second quiz is 30min. So on the second quiz's start page, it tells users they will have 30 min for the quiz but the first timer e.q. 45:00/60:00 also shows on the screen. That is so weird, isn't it?

Hi Joanne,

It sounds like you're running into the bug Crystal mentioned earlier in this discussion. The timer should stop once you hit the results slide, but it incorrectly keeps counting even after you have left the quiz. As soon as we hear more information on this issue, we'll post an update here.

Sorry for the headaches this is causing you!

Hi Alyssa,

Not quite, the timer stop running correctly once the result page shows. My problem is that I have more slides to go after the quiz. And I don't want the timer still shows on the page since the quiz is finished. For example, slides next to the quiz will still show the the freezing remaining time of the quiz, and that's really wird to see the timer still be there.

Hi everyone,

Good news! We fixed the issue you reported where the:

Quiz timer is synchronized on all multiple Result Slides that are configured with different timer settings.

Be sure to install the latest Storyline 360 update to take advantage of all the recent features and fixes.

If the problem happens again, please record a Peek 360 screencast for me, and I'll be happy to help or you can always work directly with our support engineers here.

More good news, all! 🗞

Update 43 for Storyline 360 is ready: We fixed the issue where a timer could continue to display after moving past a quiz, and sometimes the "time limit exceeded" message would appear on a result slide.
