Basic States Question...

I am trying to have a button behave according to states, i.e. hover but when I go to edit and establish the trigger they all look normal.  What simple steps am I missing.  I already read the following but no luck?

Hi Ronald

If you add a button it automatically adds a number of default states (usually only the 'selected' state needs to be added' unless you are creating 'custom' states.

The built-in states already have the triggers associated so you don't need to add triggers in the trigger panel - SL automatically knows what to do for the hover state, visited state etc.

You would only add a trigger e.g. if you wanted to change a button from normal to disabled when an event occured or when the timeline starts (you could also set it's initial state in the Edit States tab as well).

If you need more help - you can upload your story file and someone will surely assist you.

This is the problem:

The built-in states already have triggers associated with them, so you don't need to add triggers in the trigger panel - SL automatically knows what to do for the hover state, visited state, etc. If you create your own triggers for those states, there is a good chance they will conflict with the built-in states, with (as you know) unpredictable results.

Of course, the "I need to configure My Dashboard's" hover state is exactly the same as the normal state, so it may be difficult to notice when you do get it working correctly.
