Tools Integrating with Storyline?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to Articulate, and I'm using 360.  I was wondering if there are additional software tools/programs etc. that integrate well with Storyline 360?  For example, if I wanted to build my own form-based assessments in, beyond what is offered in the templates in Content Library?  Would Google Forms integrate with Storyline?  (I'm just using this as one example, but I'm interested in learning about a wide array of things that would integrate well.)  Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Tara,

A really good question and I'll defer to the community's expertise here, but I did want to at least respond to the question about Google Forms! Things like that can be inserted as a web object within Storyline. That way the form still lives within Google, but users can access it from directly within the Storyline course.

To answer your question, there's no tool I've needed (so far) that did NOT integrate SOMEHOW with Storyline. You may have to think outside the box a bit to get it to do what you need, but nearly everything is possible.

You may have to find someone who can help you with javascript or some technical imagination, but don't limit yourself to what CAN be done - think what NEEDS to be done and then find a way to make it happen. Good luck!

I use a lot of different tools with Storyline. Here is a partial list:

  • Goanimate, Crazytalk Pro and my new fav Adobe Character Animator CC to create scenes with animated and talking characters - I publish these as videos and insert them into Storyline.
  • VideoScribe for creating white board type videos that are inserted into Storyline as video.
  • Youtube and Vimeo videos embedded as either videos or inserted as web objects.
  • Google forms used as leader boards or interactive tables inserted as web objects.
  • Padlet for capturing and displaying user comments within Storyline - inserted as web object.
  • Sketchpad for drawing - inserted as web object.
  • Javascript for integrating with Twitter and other social media platforms.
  • Survey Monkey for user surveys and sometimes for quizzing when client does not have an LMS - inserted as web object.
